Dear Friends,
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ abound towards you this day, and in the days to come. Thanks once again for taking the time to share with us, a portion of God’s word.
Last month, we learned how to extract power from God’s words and use it for your daily power-living. If you pay close attention to this very practical lesson, it will become easier for you to receive answers to your prayers, and to speed up your spiritual growth. Let us now take that lesson a little further by taking an example to demonstrate how to apply the steps that we learned to practical daily living.

Think about Your Situation
First consider the situation that you are facing. What are involved, and what would you like God to do for you? God does know your situation, but He does not automatically take care of it. You need to tell Him what your problems are and what you want Him to do for you. Jesus always asked the people He ministered to, “what do you want me to do for you?” Let’s pick a problem that many people have.
Problem: Can’t get your prayers answered.
Solution: Ask God to show you what to do so that He may answer your prayers (It’s tempting to simply say to God “Lord, please answer my prayers.” Experience shows that this does not work). Never beg God if you are a legitimate son or daughter. Instead, approach Him by faith. Besides, God is more interested in showing you how to approach Him so that He will always answer your prayers.

Find the Right Word For Your Situation
Search the scriptures to find the words that are relevant to your situation. When you find the right one, what it says is precisely what God would be saying to you if you could hear him now. When we search the scriptures in regards to our example, we find one that is so powerful that it will move God to answer all our prayers, if we successfully do as it says; even if we fail to meet other conditions. The scriptures say: “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24

Hear, Understand and Believe the Word
By this, we mean read and study this scripture. Read the words over several times, and each time, listen to what it is saying to you and analyze what you are hearing to see how it is relevant to your situation. Let’s apply this to our example:
When you read our example (Mark 11:24) over a few times, listening and analyzing it, the word is saying that when you ask God for anything that is according to His will (Rom 8:26-27), right at that time when you are praying, you should believe that you are receiving it, or have received it. This is when your faith must be released fully to expel all doubts in your mind and to enable you believe God fully. Remember that your belief must be in Him, and in the fact that He will surely grant your request (Hebrews 11:6).
Finally, believe that this exercise, which is your act of obedience to God, will move Him to answer you. You’ve kept your part. Believe fully that God will undoubtedly keep His own part. Amen and Amen!

Retain the Word in Your Heart
Now, if you receive this word as something extremely important, a precious gift from God and a crown jewel, your heart will retain it easily. Indeed, God wants you to “treasure the words of His mouth more than your necessary food” (Job 23:12). Why? Because its only the words of God that will bring you both heavenly and earthly wealth; even those that no amount of money can buy.
Next, turn the word over, and over again in your mind until your mind retains it, or, actively memorize it if that is easier for you. Yes God commands you to “let your heart retain His words;” (Prov 4:4). The retained words will help you to build up your faith, and to provide the Holy Spirit a means for helping get your prayers answered (Ephesians 6:17).

Put the Word to Use in Prayers
Finally, you are ready to put the scripture to practical use by applying it to a specific prayer. Our example scripture (Mark 11:24 can be applied to any prayer in which you are asking God for a specific thing. So, begin to pray asking God for a specific something that is according to God’s will for you. In this prayer, as well as in other prayers, remember to rely on the help of the Holy Spirit.
The most important things that you need to do are:
1. While you are praying, believe God fully; that He is able to fulfill His words and grant your request.
2. While you are still praying, believe that He is giving you what you are asking Him for, and that you are receiving it right then.
3. After the prayer, continue to believe in this manner.
4. When you pray again for this thing, do not pray as though you have not asked for it before. This will be faithless. Instead, pray with the mindset that you are waiting for the manifestation of what you had already received when you first prayed. Give thanks. Ask Him to fulfill your request, etc.
5. Since God did not promise when He will manifest your request, assume that the manifestation may come right away, or it may tarry for a little while. If it tarries for too long, begin to ask God to show you why. When He does, move to take care of whatever He points out if any action is needed.
